Foster Marine Surveys Marine Surveys in Kent

Estimates & Quotations

To arrive at a quotation I need the following information relating to the vessel in question:

  • Location of vessel to be surveyed
  • Length
  • Beam/Width
  • Materials of construction (i.e. FRP/GRP, timber, steel)

It is preferable that the boat is out of the water and on blocks for the survey. However, I have undertaken many surveys where the vessel has been lifted and held in slings.

It is also helpful that the undersides are jet washed to remove marine growth, etc., prior to survey.

  • Terms & Conditions of Survey

At the time of booking a marine survey we usually email you an introductory letter, Terms & Conditions of Survey and a Survey Contract for your perusal and signature.

The Contract is used to provide your contact details as well as those of the boatyard/broker/owner, plus access details of the vessel to be surveyed. Please note that I cannot undertake the Marine Survey until I am in receipt of a signed contract.

    Yacht Valuations

For yacht valuations, there is an additional, nominal charge dependent upon the dimensions of the boat. The Opinion of Value is a separate service but can be undertaken at the same time as the boat survey. My standard Terms & Conditions of Survey and Contract are applicable to yacht valuations.
